Nigerian army reportedly launched bombing on the insurgents' camps in Bauchi State on May 22, Thursday.
The move was made in order the fight the recent upsurge in gunmen's activities, including abductions, in some areas of the state, especially in Darazo LGA.
It would be recalled that last week 2 schools of the state were burnt in Darazo LGA, luckily with no casualties.
However, a 5-year-old girl was burnt to death in a last month incident, when unidentified gunmen set ablaze the school in Yana town, Shira LGA.
According to the information gathered by Nigerian Tribune journalists many gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents had been operating in the Balmo forests in Darazo, Burra in Ningi LGA, Soro in Ganjuwa LGA and Yuga forests between Zara-Miya. One more camp was said to be located around the Bauchi - Gombe border in Alkaleri.
Locals, who witnessed the military actions, said the soldiers started bombing the forests around around 6.00 a.m.
Nigerian Tribune referred to the reliable security source that confirmed the information about anti-insurgency operation in the forest, however it didn't provide its details.
